Mixed Media Artist

Vision

ADRIENNA MATZEG’s diverse background informs her approach to design. She works within a range of analog and digital processes including weaving, screen printing and photographic mediums. Adrienna earned her degree in Photography from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Nostalgia is a prominent theme in Adrienna’s practice. She is drawn to the narrative quality that both photography and textiles possess. Her current work is created using the punch needle technique and features representations of travel destinations and how they are documented. The pieces are an opportunity for reflection on our relationship with travel, and what the future of travel will mean to each of us.

Adrienna’s personal work has been shown in the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, and has been featured in Canadian Art Magazine. Her career has encompassed Surface Design, Product Design and Retail Experience Design. She has contributed many products to Umbra, and has worked collaboratively on the new concept for Mejuri’s stores and jewelry displays. Adrienna currently lives and works in Toronto.
