Gallery Wall

There is nothing better in our opinion than a gallery wall! Investing in a large scale art piece is not always a possibility and a great way to make a bold art statement is with a grouping of artworks. It is also a great way to showcase works you have collected over the years as well as a reason for adding new ones. Here we have used a mix of pieces in our collection for a long time along with pieces we collected in support of Black Lives Matter fundraisers last year as well as some available pieces from Gallery Little Red.

Similar framing can make the wall cohesive like in the image below with all black frames; however we also love mixing framing styles and mediums for variety. A gridded layout can bring order and feel more formal, while a more organic layout like we did here can give a more laid back feel. We love that this wall can evolve. Below was what the wall looked like 5 years ago! For the newest version we have focused on variety with painting, photography and sculpture and staying neutral in colour with pops of gold. We mixed frame styles and finishes to add more diversity to the look.

We are always excited to put together a gallery wall, although installing ourselves is not our favourite thing. We have great teams we can enlist to make a wall like this come to life in your home too. See our timelapse below of how this one came together.

Watch our founder, Kate Lawler-Dean, tackle the gallery wall in her home studio.
